Once Bitten: This movie screams 80s! Starring a fairly new actor in Hollywood by the name of Jim Carrey, Once Bitten is a cheese filled fun-fest.

I can count on one hand how many times I actually laughed out loud. It feels way too long and there are long stretches of no comedy. Starring George Hamilton as Count Dracula and Susan Saint James as his love interest, Love At First Bite is similar to other “spoof” movies of the time, like Airplane!, but the problem is, it’s just blah. It’s fairly boring and tries way to hard to be funny. Love At First Bite: Honestly, I really struggled with this one. Movie Opinion: Like my Vampire’s Kiss/High Spirits review, I’ll break down each movie. Screenshot courtesy of Scream Factory Facebook Page Once Bitten is a totally ’80s teen vampire flick where the bloodsuckers don’t sparkle, but the comedy most certainly does. When a vampire Countess (Hutton) seeks virgin blood, she soon discovers that it’s not as easy to come by as it was in the good old days! When she crosses paths with the still-virginal Mark Kendall (Carrey in one of his earliest screen roles), it’s a race against time to get to him before he gets it on. Jim Carrey is necking with a vampire in Once Bitten, a 1985 teen comedy also starring Lauren Hutton, Karen Kopins, and Cleavon Little (Blazing Saddles). Will the Count take a bite out of The Big Apple - or will its mean streets take a bite out of him? Susan Saint James, Richard Benjamin, Arte Johnson, Dick Shawn and The Jeffersons’ Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford also star in this outrageous romance about a guy who really loves the nightlife. When Count Dracula (Hamilton) is forced out of his castle to make room for an Olympic training facility, he relocates to New York City in search of discos, blood banks, and the fashion model who just might be the girl of his dreams. George Hamilton is possibly the tannest vampire in screen history in 1979’s Love at First Bite. Short nitty-gritty plot description is as follows: Sink your teeth into a pair of fangtastic vampire comedies, available for the first time on Blu-ray! Anyway, let’s quickly go through what we got on our hands after the break… This Blu-ray isn’t loaded with any sort of special features and the movies aren’t top notch classics, but if you find it cheap, what better way to kill a few hours. Another vampire two pack offering coming at you from Scream Factory and this time, we got one funny, quirky 80s gem by the way of Once Bitten and another late 70s, trying ever so hard to be funny vampire flick, Love At First Bite.
